Crizalia — Cookie Policy
What cookies we use and how to control them
Crizalia Le Blan, Lille (France) · Version 2.0 · In effect from 27 April 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how www.crizalia.com (the “Site“) uses cookies and similar technologies, why we use them, and how you can control them. It is published in addition to, and is governed by, our Privacy Policy.
We comply with Article 82 of the French Loi Informatique et Libertés (Loi n° 78-17, transposing Article 5(3) of Directive 2002/58/EC, “ePrivacy Directive”), as interpreted by the French data-protection authority CNIL in its guidelines (Délibération n° 2020-091) and recommendation (Délibération n° 2020-092) of 17 September 2020, as modified by Délibération n° 2025-131 of 18 December 2025.
Article 1 — What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file stored on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies — local storage, session storage, pixel tags, fingerprinting — work in comparable ways. Throughout this Policy we use the word “cookie” for all such technologies.
Article 2 — Cookie categories and your consent
Cookies fall into two consent categories:
Strictly necessary cookies — no consent required. These cookies are essential to the operation of the Site or to provide a service you explicitly request (e.g. logging in to your account, completing a booking). Pursuant to Article 82, paragraph 2 of Loi n° 78-17, no prior consent is required for cookies whose sole purpose is to enable or facilitate communication by electronic means, or that are strictly necessary for the provision of an online communication service explicitly requested by the user.
Cookies requiring consent — opt-in. Any other cookie, including audience-measurement cookies that are not exempt, advertising or marketing cookies, social-media cookies, and tracking by third parties, requires your prior, free, specific, informed, and unambiguous consent (consentement préalable, libre, spécifique, éclairé et univoque) given by a clear positive act before the cookie is placed.
Article 3 — Cookies currently in use
Below is the inventory of cookies set on the Site as of the date of this Policy. We update this inventory whenever a new cookie is introduced.
3.1 Strictly necessary cookies (no consent required)
| Name | Purpose | Provider | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|
| wp_llms_session_* | Session token for the LifterLMS course/membership engine. | Crizalia (first-party, OVH) | 6 hours (session) |
| pmpro_visit | Marks the current visit for the Paid Memberships Pro engine. | Crizalia (first-party, OVH) | Session |
| wordpress_logged_in_* | Identifies an authenticated user (only set when you log in). | Crizalia (first-party, OVH) | Until logout / browser close |
| wp-settings-* | Stores admin-area display preferences (only set for logged-in users). | Crizalia (first-party, OVH) | 1 year |
| cookieyes-consent | Records your cookie-consent choices, so the banner does not reappear. | CookieYes (consent-management platform) | 6 months (CNIL Délibération n° 2020-092, point 30) |
We are reviewing the cookieyes-consent cookie retention to align with the CNIL recommendation of a maximum of six (6) months for re-solicitation of consent.
3.2 Cookies requiring consent
At the date of this Policy, the Site does not set audience-measurement, advertising, social-media, or other tracking cookies. If we add any in the future, we will update this inventory and ask for your consent before the cookie is placed.
3.3 Cookies set by third-party services on dedicated pages
When you proceed through a payment flow, the payment service provider (Stripe or PayPal) may set its own cookies on your device. These are functional cookies necessary to process the payment securely. Their handling is governed by the payment provider’s own privacy and cookie policies.
Article 4 — How we ask for your consent
On your first visit, a consent banner is displayed. The banner offers, with equal visual weight and at the same level:
- “Accept all” — places all cookies described in section 3.2.
- “Reject all” — places only strictly necessary cookies (section 3.1).
- “Customise” — granular per-purpose choice.
Continuing to browse, scrolling, or closing the banner is not consent. Refusal must be as easy as acceptance (CNIL Délibération n° 2020-091, point 4.1).
Article 5 — How to change or withdraw your consent
You can change or withdraw your consent at any time:
- On the Site: through the “Manage cookie preferences” link in the footer of every page.
- In your browser: most browsers allow you to view, delete, and block cookies through their settings (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge — see help pages of each browser).
Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of any processing carried out before withdrawal.
Article 6 — Retention of consent decisions
Your consent decision (acceptance or refusal) is recorded for a maximum of six (6) months. After this period, the banner reappears so you can confirm or change your choice. This aligns with the CNIL recommendation of a six-month maximum re-solicitation period (Délibération n° 2020-092, paragraph 30).
Article 7 — Data transferred via cookies
Strictly necessary cookies (section 3.1) are first-party cookies hosted by OVH SAS in France. No personal data is transferred to a third country. The CookieYes consent-management platform may process the consent record on infrastructure outside the European Union; in that case the transfer is governed by the European Commission Standard Contractual Clauses (Decision (EU) 2021/914).
Article 8 — Your rights
Beyond consent management, you retain all rights under the GDPR — access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection, withdrawal of consent, and the right to lodge a complaint with the CNIL. The full procedure is set out in our Privacy Policy.
Article 9 — Updates
We update this Cookie Policy whenever the cookie inventory changes or when applicable rules evolve. The version applicable to a given visit is the one published at the time of access. The “In effect from” date is shown at the top of this document.
